Perfect Weather for a Trench

London was back to its usual rainy self yesterday but I didn’t mind too much as it was the perfect excuse for me to test out my new Burberry Trench…I’ve been saving up the pennies for this beauty for quite some time and my friends are no doubt sick of hearing about my imminent purchase. Thankfully for them it is now bought and christened with its first London drizzle. I’ll let the coat do the talking itself from now on. I just have to figure out what to do with all the hooks and buttons and belts and lapels! Will be looking to Art of the Trench and fellow trench wearer LP over at Cider & Sass for some inspiration…

The gloomy weather also lent itself to an afternoon of gallery browsing and I was glad to catch the Irving Penn exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. I’ve always been a fan of his deceptively simple black and white photos, and his ability to create such graceful stillness in many of his portraits. The exhibition had less fashion photographs than I would have liked but it did feature one of my favourite photos of his wife, the model Lisa Fonssagrive.
